The Peak of Suroloyo

Suroloyo Peak is the highest hill in the mountainous region located in the districtMenoreh Kulonprogo. In addition to having beautiful scenery, this place also has avariety of stories and myths are quite strong.


In areas with an altitude of about 1,100 meters above sea level, people can watch such a beautiful landscape. If the weather clears, usually in the morning, one can see four bigmountains in Java that is Merapi, Merbabu, Cleft, and Sindoro. From this place the peak Borobudur Temple in Magelang can also be seen clearly.

The peak is located in the village Keceme Suroloyo, Gerbosari, sub Samigaluh,Kulonprogo. There are two paths to reach this place the way Godean - Sentolo -Kalibawang and out of the way Magelang - Market of Muntilan - Kalibawang. Path tothis place is quite difficult because the full rise and twist. Until now this area isaccessible only by private vehicles only.
At the top there are three viewing post has its own name that is Suroloyo, Sariloyo andKaendran.



If you want to visit this place, best time is when the sun rises until about 09.00 am. At that time the scenery looks clean and clear. Because a remote location, some peoplechoose to stay at this place in order to enjoy the beautiful scenery Suroloyo.
