The tourism of Ketep Pass located in Magelang, Central Java, this is one of Volcano Merapi tourism. Ketep Pass located at an altitude of 1200 meters above sea level, and an area about 800 square maters, with 35 kilometers from Magelang City, and 30 kilometers from Borobudur temple.

Ketep Pass has several facilities that have to visited.

There are two gazebos each with size four square meters. This is the place to see the beauty of mount merapi and mount merbabu, with expanse of agricultural land, wich is on the foot of mountain. And you can enjoy the food and drinks that sold by the traders, around the gazebo.

There is a museum with an area of approximately 550 square meters. This is a museum of vulcanology, standing inside a miniature of Mount Merapi, an interactive computer that contains the document of the volcano, some examples evidence of eruption rock from year to year. Garuda’s top poster size 3x3 meters, posters warning of Mount Merapi lava.

KETEP VOLCANO THEATRE

This is the place for playing a documentary film about the activity of Mount Merapi, with a capacity 78 seats. This scientific film tells about the occurrence of Mount Merapi, climbing routes, research at the peak of Garuda and the massive eruption of Mount Merapi.

Man on the Panca Arga

Panca Arga means five Mountains, this is the highest location in Ketep Pass. On this highest peak, you can see Five Mountains, these are Mount Merapi, Mount Merbabu, Mount Sindoro, Mount Slamet, Mount Sumbing. Apart from the fifth mountain, visitors can see and enjoy the small mountain and hills are beautifull, among others, Mount Tidar, Mount Andong, Mount Pring, Menoreh Hill, Telo Moyo Hill, and others.

In here, visitors can enjoy menus that served in Ketep Pass Restaurant according to the taste. Building above Ketep Volcano Teatre, walled by glass. This is ideal for visitor while eating the meals that are available as well enjoy the beautifull panorama at the foot of Mount Merapi and Mount Merbabu.
